Environmental education and themed routes

Appreciation and awareness of one’s own surroundings is an essential prerequisite for building a sustainable environment and society. In this respect, communicating the unique and precious aspects of a local area as well as conventional educational measures take on a pivotal role.

True to this motto, we plan and design our themed routes and nature/environment trails to be as interactive as possible while never forgetting the perennial and dreaded subject of vandal-proofing and the restrictions of the – usually – ‘public purse’. ARSU endeavors to raise awareness of the special qualities of nature and the local landscape amongst residents and visitors alike and to promote mindfulness for one’s own surroundings. Every positive personal experience of one’s (natural) surroundings can stimulate, in its turn, positive sustainable development action.

This creative process starts with the selection of content and material, then the design of the concept itself using a variety of techniques (information stations, films etc.) through to the final production of print and digital media. From start to finish, ARSU provides support and coordination for planning and implementation of such schemes including funding applications and public relations work.
