Ecological field surveys

The standards for the qualitative and quantitative population surveys required for impact assessments and by species protection regulations have risen steadily. The absolute reliability of such data – methodologically and legally – is essential to the success of any approval process but gathering and processing such data is a costly and time-consuming. Against this background, ARSU sets its own high standards for the surveys it carries out. Our team includes highly-qualified experts who continually seek to refine their specialist skills and techniques using leading-edge technologies including, in particular, methods for automatic data collection. To this end, we carry out our own research projects on, for example, acoustic and camera-based detection of specific bird species for the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation, the German Federal Foundation for the Environment as well as for private initiatives and groupings. Upon request, we can call on a large pool of well-trained freelance staff enabling us to tackle even very large projects
